General information 

Kazakhstan is a unitary state with a presidential form of government. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the head of State, its highest official, who determines the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the state and represents Kazakhstan within the country and in international relations.

Time: 6 hours ahead of GMT time (Astana, Almaty). Kazakhstan is divided into two time zones: the eastern (main) and western zone. 

Language: The state language is Kazakh, and Russian is used in state organizations and local self-government bodies along with the Kazakh language. 

Religion: Today Kazakhstan is a multi-confessional country, where there are more than 3,000 religious associations representing 40 confessions. The predominant religions are Islam and Christianity.
