SEZ «Seaport Aktau» was created according to 

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 853 of April 26, 2002 "On the establishment of a special economic" Aktau seaport " 

SEZ «Seaport Aktau» was created for the 

Creation of a favorable investment climate and attraction of domestic and foreign investments for the implementation of investment projects with export orientation;

- accelerated development of modern production and innovative technologies in the region's economy for import substitution;

- Creation of new jobs and raising the level of skills of local staff.

The total territory of SEZ "Morport Aktau" - 2322,1719 hectares, consists of 11 subzones.
