Special Economic Zone "Seaport Aktau" operates in the city of Aktau in 2003. Created it by decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 853 dated 26 April 2002.

Special Economic Zone "Seaport Aktau" intended to be a further impetus to the development of Mangistau region, an effective tool for diversification. Mangistau region - are cost-effective geographic location, availability of transport infrastructure and logistics. All these factors make the region highly attractive in terms of investment, and the possibility of tax and customs preferences granted SEZ participants maintain high investment attractiveness of the market.
